From our pastor—

I’m so glad you are interested in St. Andrew Community Church. The best way to get to know us and what we are all about is to visit with us in person if you are able. We would love to meet you and get to know you and worship God right alongside you. I think you will find St. Andrew to be a welcoming and friendly place. Should you need me to come to you, I would love nothing more than to visit you at a place and time convenient to you. I want you to know Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my family. My name is Chris Blalock, and I have been the pastor and St. Andrew since January of 2021. I have been serving as a pastor and preaching in southern middle Tennessee since 2014. In addition to serving churches, I have served as a community and hospice chaplain.

I am originally from Florence, AL. I lived there until I graduated high school and entered the U.S. Army. Shortly after my service commitment was over I began a career as a sales manager for Lewis Bakeries (Bunny Bread) of Murfreesboro, TN. My career in the bread business lasted 17 years and up until I entered ministry full-time.

My wife is Cindy, and we have been married since March of 2001. Cindy is a life-long resident of Loretto, TN and we have made our home there since we were married. When the Lord brought us together we were a blended family with four children. They are all grown now but we are so blessed to be raising a grandson—Parker, who is 16 years old and a junior at Loretto High School.

Since an early age and through many points of affirmation I have sensed a call to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ—nothing brings me more delight than He does. This calling has led  me through many formative experiences including Martin Methodist College, Lee University, Wesley Biblical Seminary, and currently Liberty University for my education. But my most formative experiences that have prepared me for ministry have been as the Holy Spirit shaped me through the love and guidance of the Lord’s people in local churches. I have been blessed to know so many godly witnesses for Christ, including ministers, who along with my mother have helped shape my understanding of what it means to be “a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ” (James 1:1).

It’s been an amazing journey to get to this place where the Lord has blessed me to shepherd the people of St. Andrew. I hope to see you soon and until then.. “May the Lord bless you and protect you; may the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.” – Numbers 6:24-26
